FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGICAL AND RISK ASSESSMENTS The team at Pro Psychology Consult have more than 20 years+ each in conducting psychological assessment and have trained in counselling psychology (Barbara) and forensic psychology (Tim). Tim Trimble is the Forensic Psychologist and he is experienced in conducting sexual, violent, cognitive and functional risk assessment.
A comprehensive assessment is implemented using the latest evidence-based assessment instruments and a detailed psychological report is generated reporting on cognitive, emotional, behavioral and social factors pertinent to the alleged or convicted offence under evaluation. The reports focus on both the strengths and vulnerabilities of the individual concerned and diverse sources of collateral information are sourced including clinical interview, personal history, family history, psychometric testing and interviews with significant others may be included as appropriate. The assessment duration may vary from person to person depending on the complexity of the evaluation and may take 1-2 or several clinical meetings to conclude. Risk assessment and re-offending risk is evaluated in both contact and non-contact offenders and treatment planning and management strategies will be provided. The evaluation is aimed at profiling the client to understand their capacity for insight and understanding, their cognitive capacity, psychological functioning, to inform the courts and probation and to make recommendations and respond to questions raised in the referral.
